Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how The Sacred Year handles information when you use the mobile application or visit thesacredyear.org.

The Sacred Year is published under the developer name Studio Silvanum and operated by FANTASTIQUE, Andrije Hebranga 84, Dubrovnik, Croatia (“we”, “us”, or “our”).


  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The Sacred Year does not currently require users to create an account.


App preferences:

Your selected traditions, primary traditions, calendar preference, favourites, reminder settings, music settings, and similar app preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not use this information to identify you.


Feedback:

If you voluntarily send feedback through the app, we may collect:

• the feedback category you select;
• the message you submit;
• your email address, if you choose to provide one;
• the app version; and
• technical information required to process and protect the submission.


Feedback is used only to respond to messages, investigate problems, and improve The Sacred Year. Do not include sensitive personal information in a feedback message.


Purchase information:

If premium subscriptions or other purchases are offered, payments are processed by Google Play and may be managed through RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card details. We may receive limited purchase information, such as subscription status, product purchased, transaction status, and an anonymous app-user or device identifier required to provide and restore premium access.


Technical information:

The app and its service providers may process limited technical information required to deliver content, secure requests, diagnose failures, and operate the service. This may include IP address, device or operating-system information, request timestamps, and diagnostic records. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.


  1. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

Favourites, tradition selections, calendar preferences, music preferences, and reminder settings are primarily stored locally on your device.

Sacred reminders are scheduled locally through your device’s notification system. You can disable reminders in the app’s settings or revoke notification permission through your device settings.

Deleting the app or clearing its data may remove locally stored preferences and scheduled reminders.


  1. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use information only when reasonably necessary to:

• provide and maintain the app;
• remember your selected preferences;
• display personalised calendar content;
• schedule reminders you have enabled;
• process and restore premium access;
• receive and respond to feedback;
• maintain security and prevent misuse;
• diagnose technical problems; and
• meet legal obligations.


Where applicable under European data-protection law, processing is based on performance of a service you request, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, or compliance with legal obligations.


  1. SERVICE PROVIDERS

We use selected service providers to operate The Sacred Year. Depending on the features you use, these may include:

• Supabase — database, storage, and app infrastructure;
• Google Play — app distribution, payments, and subscription management;
• RevenueCat — management and verification of premium access;
• Resend — delivery of feedback notifications by email; and
• Namecheap — website hosting and related infrastructure.


These providers may process limited information on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. We do not sell personal information.


  1. DATA SHARING

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Information may be shared only:

• with service providers needed to operate the app and website;
• when required by law, regulation, court order, or a competent authority;
• to protect the security, rights, and integrity of users, the app, or others; or
• as part of a lawful business transfer, subject to appropriate safeguards.


  1. DATA RETENTION

Feedback submissions and related correspondence are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, improve the service, maintain security, or satisfy legal obligations.

Technical logs may be retained temporarily by us or our service providers for security and troubleshooting.

Purchase records may be retained by Google Play, RevenueCat, or us for as long as necessary to provide access, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and comply with accounting or legal requirements.

Local app preferences remain on your device until you change them, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app.


  1. DATA SECURITY

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including restricted database access and encrypted network connections where supported. No online system can guarantee absolute security.


  1. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location, including under the General Data Protection Regulation, you may have the right to:

• request access to personal information concerning you;
• request correction or deletion;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• request data portability where applicable; and
• lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority.

In Croatia, the supervisory authority is the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP).

Because The Sacred Year does not currently provide user accounts, most preferences can be deleted directly by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it. To request access to or deletion of a feedback submission, contact us using the email address below. We may need sufficient information to identify the relevant submission.


  1. CHILDREN

The Sacred Year is an educational and cultural-reference app intended for a general audience. It is not specifically directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.


  1. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING

Some service providers may process information outside Croatia or the European Economic Area. Where required, appropriate legal safeguards are used for international transfers.


  1. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

The app and website may contain links to external sources, references, websites, or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties.


  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy when features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be published at this address with a revised effective date.
